The lead attorney of the SFS Law Group, Dennis O’Dea, did his undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame. At the University of Michigan Law School, he was associate editor of the Michigan Law Review, was admitted to the Order of the Coif, and graduated magna cum laude.


Mr. O’Dea has more than 30 years of experience providing legal services to businesses, with an emphasis on bankruptcy and reorganization. His work on high-profile bankruptcy cases is well known and was written about in multiple books and news reports.

Dennis O’Dea

Dennis O’Dea is the principal officer of the SFS Law Group. He received his undergraduate degree in government from the University of Notre Dame and his JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan. He was an Associate Editor of the Michigan Law Review and admitted to the Michigan Chapter of the Order of the Coif. He is admitted to practice before many courts. 

The SFS Law Group is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was created to offer a new model for business lawyers to offer the sophisticated practice developed in large legacy-structured firms while offering greater efficiency and value to clients by using developing communications, practice management and developing technologies to deliver services a lower cost and greater efficiency to middle market businesses, their owners and stakeholders.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE 

Mr. O’Dea has extensive experience in civil litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. In recent years, litigation in bankruptcy cases and other courts dealing with distressed companies and the claims of creditors, investors, and other stakeholders expanded following the recession in 2008. 


During his practice Mr. O’Dea advised business clients in dealing with their legal compliance obligations and relations with their owners, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. He drafted, reviewed and helped implement business agreements, asset purchases and dispositions, restructurings, loan and business debt workouts, and business reorganizations through bankruptcy and private negotiation. .
